Machine learning is one of the fastest-growing and most exciting fields out there, and deep learning represents its true bleeding edge.
Deep learning is the machine learning technique behind the most exciting capabilities in diverse areas like robotics, natural language processing, image recognition and artificial intelligence (including the famous AlphaGo).
There are three axes that lead to advances in machine running and deep-running,
(1) network architecture,
(2) learning algorithms, and
(3) space-time abstraction.
This lecture will describe a series of research topics Kyunghyun Cho has pursued in each axis.
