CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin interviews Sophia, a humanoid robot, about the future of artificial intelligence at a Future Investment Institute panel in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. Sophia had an amusing exchange with the host to the delight of hundreds of delegates.
Artificial Intelligent Robot Received Citizenship at the Future Investment Initiative conference in Saudi Arabia. Sophia is the first robot in the world to be recognized with a citizenship.
“I am very honored and proud for this unique distinction. This is historical to be the first robot in the world to be recognized with a citizenship,” Sophia said.
This panel called “Thinking machines: Summit on artificial intelligence and robotics,” made up of experts from some of the world’s leading companies and research institutions. They discussed the scope for innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, quantum computing, machine learning.
Sophia also said to Sorkin “You’ve been reading too much Elon Musk. And watching too many Hollywood movies. Don’t worry, if you’re nice to me, I’ll be nice to you. Treat me as a smart input output system,” Sophia said.
